An ambient scribe is AI software that listens during a patient visit and automatically generates clinical documentation — without the clinician needing to type, dictate, or chart after the encounter. How does the ambient AI scribe work during a home visit?
The clinician opens the Lime app on their phone or tablet and starts a session before the visit. The ambient scribe listens to the natural conversation between clinician and patient, then generates structured clinical documentation — including OASIS items, visit notes, and ICD-10 code suggestions. The clinician reviews and approves all notes before they sync to the EMR.
How is an ambient scribe different from dictation software?
Dictation software transcribes what you say word-for-word — you still have to structure and format the note yourself. Is Lime Health AI HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Lime Health AI is fully HIPAA compliant. All patient data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). We maintain a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with every agency.
Where is patient data stored?
All data is stored on HIPAA-compliant cloud infrastructure within the United States, with encryption, role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication, and comprehensive audit logging.
Do you sell patient data?
Never. We do not sell, share, or use protected health information (PHI) for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to providing our services to you.
What happens to recordings after notes are generated?
Audio recordings are processed to generate clinical documentation and are retained in accordance with your agency's data retention policies and our BAA. You can request deletion at any time.
